A 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit Taiwan

Buildings in Taipei briefly shook on Monday when a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck off the east coast of Taiwan, but there were no immediate reports of damage. The quake was 27.5 km deep with an epicenter 89.5 km off the east coast of Taiwan, about halfway between the coast of Hualien County and the southern Japanese island of Yonaguni.
