Families were evacuated from their homes after a wildfire engulfed the moorland in Dorset, destroying about 17 hectares (42 acres) of wildlife-rich habitat. Around 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, firefighters received a call about a fire. The combination of high winds and unusually dry vegetation resulted in a sharp and rapid spread of the fire.
