A wildfire in New Mexico threatens the city

Hundreds of households in the historic New Mexico city of Las Vegas have been ordered to evacuate as strong winds and drought pushed the largest active wildfire in the United States closer to the city. The blaze engulfed more than 121,000 acres, destroying centuries-old settlements and vacation homes in the wooded mountains 30 miles northeast of Santa Fe.
