Amazon Web Services said Wednesday it will launch a sovereign cloud in Europe for governments and customers in heavily regulated industries. The sovereign cloud will store data on servers located in the European Union, and only AWS employees residing in the EU will oversee operations and provide support, Amazon’s cloud computing division said in a statement.
