Antarctic winter sea ice reaches ‘extreme’ record low level
The sea ice that covers the ocean around Antarctica reached a record low this winter, the US National Snow and Ice Data Centre said on Monday, reinforcing scientists’ fears that the impact of climate change on the south pole is gaining momentum.
