“Running With The Devil: The Wild World of John McAfee” will be produced by the streaming company and Curious Films.
Software creator John McAfee will be having his own documentary on Netflix. The life and death of the antivirus inventor is set to be shown on “Running With The Devil: The Wild World of John McAfee”.
McAfee, at the top of his career, had a net worth of $100 million. However, when his neighbour was murdered, the software developer decided to go on the run, inviting a film crew with him. In 2020 he was arrested on tax evasion charges, and he was found dead in his cell in Spain the next year.
“Is a story that’s been over ten years in the making, it’s a stranger-than-fiction story like no other, about a powerful man who lived his real life like it was a high-octane Hollywood movie — and the consequences this has for those closest to him. We are incredibly proud to be telling this extraordinary tale for the first time for Netflix,” said executive producer Dov Freeman.
