The armed forces of Belarus on Wednesday began a surprise large-scale exercise to test their combat capability, the Ministry of Defense of the country neighboring Ukraine said. Belarus is a close ally of Russia, which invaded Ukraine in late February immediately after joint exercises with Minsk.
