California needs to triple the rate of emissions reductions to meet the 2030 goal
California needs to triple its annual reduction in carbon dioxide emissions to meet its 2030 goal, according to a report by consulting firm Beacon Economics and San Francisco-based think tank Next 10 released Thursday. The state’s greenhouse gas emissions rose to 381.3 million tonnes in 2021, up 3.4 percent from a year earlier.
