China’s Yangtze River shrinks due to extreme heat and drought

The Yangtze River, the longest in China, is running out of water levels and threatening crops due to a prolonged drought, and the heat wave will continue for another two weeks. In the middle and lower Yangtze, temperatures have risen to over 40 degrees Celsius over the past month, and experts blame climate change-induced fluctuations in the subtropical high in the western Pacific.
