Cold weather gripped much of China on Thursday and temperatures are expected to drop sharply over the next two days, especially in the south, forecasters said. The cold snap is moving from several northern provinces hit by snowstorms into central and southern areas, such as Guizhou province, and moving into the lower reaches of the Yangtze River Delta.
