Colombia to declare a natural disaster due to forest fires
Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro will declare the forest fires ravaging the country a natural disaster and release funds to fight the blazes amid high temperatures and the El Niño weather phenomenon. Some 204 fires have been extinguished in Colombia this month (about eight a day) and 25 are still burning.
