Company fined for large-scale methane leak in Kazakhstan
The owners of a well linked to one of the largest methane leaks ever recorded will be fined more than 350 million tenge ($774,000; £614,000), authorities said. Buzachi Oil, the Kazakh company that owns the well, denies this. However, authorities say there have been “violations of environmental laws”.
