Cate Blanchett Returns to Stage for The Seagull at London’s Barbican
Cate Blanchett is set to return to the stage for the first time in six years, taking on the role of Arkadina in a new adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull. The performance will run for six weeks at London’s Barbican Theatre starting in February. Blanchett will be joined by Tom Burke, with whom she recently worked on Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming film Black Bag. The adaptation is by Duncan Macmillan and Thomas Ostermeier, who will also direct the production.
