China plans new measures to control carbon emissions, aiming to peak in 2030
China will speed up the development of a carbon control system to meet its goal of peaking greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. Until now, Beijing’s energy policy has focused on “energy and carbon intensity” – the energy and emissions needed to produce a unit of economic output – effectively tying its targets to overall economic growth.
