China urges US, UK and Australia not to move forward on nuclear submarine cooperation
China’s foreign ministry said the US, Britain and Australia should not move forward on nuclear submarine cooperation until the international community has reached consensus on safeguards and other issues. The countries agreed to work to transfer eight nuclear-powered, conventionally armed submarines to Australia by 2050.
