Egypt opens more galleries at its antiquities museum
Egypt has opened a series of galleries to the public at its new flagship museum, but the glittering collection of King Tutankhamun and the solar boats buried in the Cheops pyramid have yet to be unveiled. The massive Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) was more than 20 years in the making and was scheduled to open in 2012, but its launch was delayed several times due to cost overruns and political turmoil.
