Gabon allows regulated logging of rare kevazingo tree
Gabon’s junta has relaxed rules governing the rare kevazingo tree, allowing logging under certain conditions of a hardwood species that can take 500 years to reach its maximum height of 40 metres. Gabon’s previous government banned kevazingo logging in 2018 due to timber trafficking.
