India’s monsoon rains hit the entire country ahead of schedule
India’s annual monsoon rains swept across the country on Tuesday, six days earlier than the season’s normal start time, although the season’s total rainfall is still 7 per cent below average. The rains usually hit the southwestern coastal state of Kerala around 1 June and move north, covering the entire country by 8 July.
