Magnitude 5.5 earthquake hits Taiwan, no damage reported
A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck near the sparsely populated Hualien county on Taiwan’s east coast on Monday, the island’s weather department said. No damage has been reported so far. The quake shook buildings in the capital Taipei. It was 23.9 kilometres (14.9 miles) deep, the weather department said.
