More than 1,000 arrested after UK riots
British authorities have arrested more than 1,000 people following days of rioting, which included racist attacks on Muslims and immigrants. The riots, which followed the murder of three girls in the town of Southport on 29 July, began after the attack was wrongly attributed to an Islamist migrant based on false information.
