Neville won his first world title in Japan
Hyundai’s Thierry Neville shrugged off the heavy burden of the ‘rally miracle’ on Sunday to win his first world championship, while Toyota claimed the manufacturers’ crown on a dramatic final day of the season in Japan. The 36-year-old Belgian, who has finished second overall five times and third three times, picked up the points he needed by finishing sixth after his team-mate and main rival Ott Tanak came off the line in the lead.
