A North Carolina city sued utility Duke Energy, accusing the company of misleading its customers and the general public about the harms of climate change. The city of Carrboro said it is ‘on the hook’ to pay millions of dollars in road repairs, rising energy bills and other infrastructure costs to mitigate the harmful effects of climate change.
