Pedro Sanchez visits West Africa to curb immigration
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez began his second visit to West Africa this year, with the aim of curbing migration to the Canary Islands. The West African migration route has seen a 154 per cent increase this year, with 21,620 people crossing to the Canary Islands in the first seven months.
