Pegula beats Sviathek’s best player to reach the semi-finals of the U.S. Open

American Jessica Pegula knocked out world number one Igu Sviatek 6-2, 6-4 at the US Open to reach the semi-finals. The sixth seed raised her hands as she claimed the biggest win of her career in front of an ecstatic Arthur Ashe Stadium crowd in her seventh major tournament quarter-final.
