Rains and floods in China led to a near doubling of disaster losses in July
Heavy rains and severe flooding in China caused nearly double the economic losses from natural disasters in July compared to last year, the government said. China suffered US$10.1 billion in economic losses from natural disasters last month, with 88 percent of those losses caused by heavy rains, floods or their aftermath.
