Richardson Faces Two-Year Ban after switching to Great Britain
Australian track cyclist Matt Richardson is expected to be ineligible for competitive events for two years after announcing his switch to represent Great Britain. The 25-year-old, who won three medals for Australia at the Paris Olympics, faces a non-competition period under Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) rules, which restrict cyclists who change nationality from participating in the following World and continental Championships. AusCycling has expressed disappointment over the decision and is working with the UCI to confirm the enforcement of the ban.
