“Twisters” is a “modern-day chapter” of its 1996 predecessor, say its creators. It centres on storm expert Kate Carter (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and tornado chaser Tyler Owens (Glen Powell), whose paths cross during a tornado that hits Oklahoma. “It’s just a modern retelling of that same community that audiences responded to in ’96,” Powell said.
