Death toll from flooding and landslide in Tanzania rises to 47 people
The number of people killed in floods and landslides in northern Tanzania has jumped to 47, with another 85 injured in heavy rain. Severe flooding caused by a combination of El Niño and Indian Ocean dipole weather phenomena has killed hundreds of people in Kenya and Somalia and forced hundreds of thousands to flee their homes since the seasonal rains began in October.
