Deforestation in Brazil’s Cerrado will increase by 3% in 2022/23

Deforestation in Brazil’s Cerrado savannah, the world’s most species-rich savannah, rose 3% between August 2022 and July 2023 to 11,022 square kilometres (4,255.6 square miles), data from INPE, the country’s space research agency, showed.
