Dengue fever has spiked in Brazil during the hot rainy season, prompting health authorities to take emergency measures and start mass vaccination against the mosquito-borne disease. According to the Health Ministry, 364,855 cases of infection were reported in the first five weeks of this year, four times the number of dengue cases reported in the same period in 2023.
