Drought in the plains will reduce the US wheat crop
A worsening drought in the US Southern Plains is threatening the region’s winter wheat crop. Some farmers in southwestern Kansas have not received significant rain or snow since October. More than half of the state of Kansas has been classified as being in severe or worse drought conditions, the driest state since 2018.
