Drought reduces Amazon rivers to historic lows
The worst drought on record has reduced river levels in the Amazon basin to historic lows, drying up riverbeds that were once navigable waterways. The Solimoes, a major tributary of the Amazon River, has fallen to its lowest level on record in Tabatinga, a Brazilian town bordering Colombia.
