Germany suspects submarine cable cut was sabotage
A 1,170-kilometre telecommunications cable between Finland and Germany was severed in the early hours of Monday, while an internet link between Lithuania and the Swedish island of Gotland went down on Sunday. German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said the damage to these two undersea cables appeared to be an act of sabotage, but he did not yet know who was to blame.
