Toxic, the first feature film by Lithuanian writer-director Saulė Bliuvaitė, is the winner of the Locarno Film Festival’s international competition 2024. The film was honoured with the Pardo d’Oro in the Swiss city. Locarno77 organisers called the film ‘an incisive portrait of teenage girls and the overwhelming expectations placed on them’.
