Etna and Stromboli volcanoes erupt in Italy, Catania airport closed
The eruptions of Italy’s Etna volcano and the smaller Stromboli volcano have spewed hot ash and lava, raising the danger level on the Mediterranean island of Sicily and leading to the temporary closure of Catania airport on Friday.
