Beleaguered Everton and Nottingham Forest found some joy in a worrying week for both clubs with victories over Crystal Palace and Blackpool respectively in FA Cup third-round replay matches on Wednesday. Andre Gomes’ penalty kick earned Everton a 1-0 home win over Crystal Palace at an icy Goodison Park.
