French candidates refuse to take part in an attempt to block the far-right

Opponents of France’s Rassemblement Nationale (RN) on Tuesday stepped up their efforts to keep the far-right party out of power, as more candidates said they would withdraw from this weekend’s run-off election to avoid splitting the vote of RN opponents.
