Hong Kong to slaughter 900 pigs over deadly swine fever outbreak

Hong Kong authorities have ordered the slaughter of more than 900 pigs after the presence of deadly African swine fever was detected on a licensed farm in the New Territories area. The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department stated that 19 of the 30 pigs tested had contracted ASF and that the transport of pigs from the farm was immediately suspended.
