Human activity leads to more disasters

Human activity contributes to an increase in the number of disasters: over the past two decades, the world has experienced between 350 and 500 medium or large disasters per year, and more frequent events are expected, according to a UN report. The number of disasters, many of which are weather-related, could reach 560 per year, or 1.5 per day, by 2030, putting millions of lives at risk.
