The Guardians of the Islamic Revolution said seven officers were killed in an Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate building in the Syrian capital Damascus. Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, the senior commander of the elite Quds Force, and Brigadier General Mohammad Hadi Haji-Rahimi, his deputy, were named among the dead.
