The head of Israeli military intelligence has resigned, saying he took responsibility for failures before Hamas attacked Israel on 7 October. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said that Major General Aharon Haliva will resign as soon as his successor is chosen. In a letter, he acknowledged that his intelligence directorate had “failed to fulfil the task assigned to us”.
