Japan’s ruling party will propose that the government enact a new law regulating generative AI technologies within 2024. To address AI-related issues such as misinformation and infringement, the Liberal Democratic Party’s AI project team will develop preliminary rules, including criminal regulations, for developers of fundamental models such as Microsoft-backed OpenAI.
