Lost Mayan city discovered in southern Mexican jungle
Archaeologists in Mexico have discovered a huge lost Mayan city hidden deep in the jungle of southern Campeche: a sprawling urban settlement, replete with architectural wonders and agricultural infrastructure. The discovery of what appears to have been a bustling urban landscape challenges existing knowledge about the prevalence and density of ancient Maya settlements.
