Moderna said on Thursday it has put on hold its plans to build a vaccine manufacturing plant in Kenya following a post-pandemic decline in demand for COVID-19 vaccines. In 2022, the company said it would invest about $500 million in a facility in Kenya and supply up to 500 million doses of its mRNA vaccines to the continent annually.
