Nigeria has become the first country in the world to introduce the “revolutionary” new Men5CV vaccine against meningitis, the World Health Organisation has said. Nigeria is one of the hotbeds of the deadly disease in Africa. According to WHO, 26 African countries considered hyperendemic for meningitis recorded a 50 per cent increase in annual cases last year.
