Philippines landslide death toll rises to 54 people
The number of people killed in a landslide in the southern Philippines has risen to 54, the provincial government said on Sunday, as rescuers dug new bodies out of the mud. The landslide occurred Tuesday night near a gold mine in Mako town in Davao de Oro province, flooding homes and vehicles carrying employees to the facility run by Apex Mining.
