Pope Francis said the Vatican’s pension fund faces a ‘serious imbalance’ that could require changes to its operational structure, and appointed a senior cardinal to take charge of the fund’s administration. He said the changes will include ‘making difficult decisions that will require special sensitivity, generosity and willingness to sacrifice on the part of all’.
