Emergency regime declared in Novorossiysk due to forest fires
The southern Russian city of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea declared a state of emergency due to forest fires covering an area of 22 hectares. Severe heat, strong winds and dry thunderstorms have caused forest fires across Russia in recent weeks, from the remote Siberian region of Tuva to the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic in the Far East.
