A court in Milan has ordered a journalist to pay Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni €5,000 in compensation for mocking her in a social media post. The journalist, Giulia Cortese, was also ordered to pay a fine of €1,200 for a Twitter jibe in October 2021 about Meloni’s height.
