Russian troops launched their anticipated offensive in eastern Ukraine, trying on Tuesday morning to break through the defenses of almost the entire front line. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia has started the “battle for Donbas” in the east, and “a very large part of the entire Russian army is now focused on this offensive.”
